American Express' new CHRO

American Express India has roped in Kabir Julka as the Chief Human Resource Officer. In the new role Julka will be responsible for development and delivery of a business focussed HR strategy that attracts, developes, motivates American Expresses most important Asset- its People. 

Julka has a strong HR background. In his 10 years of career with American Express, Kabir has held a range of HR roles in Asia and build a strong track record of successfully partnering with business leaders to drive strategic organisational goals. 

He has been elevated to this role from VP HR - Greater China&South East Asia in Hong Kong. 

Welcoming Kabir to the new role, Manoj Adlakha, CEO, American Express Banking Corp., India, said “As part of our commitment to strengthen the market in India, we are delighted to welcome Kabir. He has made a significant contribution to American Express over the past ten years and I believe that his knowledge and subject matter expertise will help us accelerate further growth in the Indian market. We look forward to Kabir joining the India Leadership team and would like to wish him the very best going forward.”

Commenting on  his new role, Julka, said, “Home to almost 13, 000 employees, India is the largest employee base for American Express outside of the US.  I look forward to partnering with the India Leadership Team to create an environment where talent and culture continue to be foundational and a driving factor in the success of American Express in India.”

Before moving to Hong Kong, Kabir, in his 16-years of career held a number of HR leadership roles, both within and outside of American Express. Kabir holds an MBA in HR from University Business School, Punjab University, India.
