J&K to get radio taxis like Ola and Uber
Jammu & Kashmir authorities are planning to start radio taxi services like Ola and Uber for J&K. Asgar Samoon, Principal Secretary Transport said that this is being done to strengthen the public transport system in the Union Territory of J&K. He also stated that owners of taxis, technocrats, auto drivers will be roped in for the project, creating better employment options for the locals.
This will operate through a Google-enabled app like Ola and Uber, which he mentioned. J&K has not had access to 4G Internet over nine months now and the question remains how will such services be available and accessible to people as they need high-speed internet connectivity.
